Cleo seemed to need something -- and her need created the most bizarre of play rituals.

Thanks, Cher! I feel so much better now! See, when Amirah gets *silly* I have to chase her around, squawking and waving my arms. I thought I was just a lone looney!

I periodically run around like a fool in order to play with them - the oldest, just looks at me....

Sounds cruel.

About as cruel as going to a horror movie. Some people and some cats like this sort of thing.

I have to say i was absolutely fascinated with Cleo's GORGEOUS eyes. What a color! She is one beautiful cat. Her owner's method of "cure" was a little different, but--whatever works. And I reckon it did. That man is not cruel; he's innovative!

Funny and informative - Thanks, Cher!

I agree that cats need a little 'drama' and an emotional workout, but I wouldn't be the monster in the game. Something big on a stick or string, something loud and mechanical - anything but me. I need to be the safe human, the one they trust. I had to work very hard to gain the trust of my rescues, and I wouldn't risk that for a moment.

Beautiful cat. I have a cat that does this but she seems like she is on a mission, so I don't stop her. She does her run thing at high speed through the house and then it's done for about a week.

None of the cats that owns me has done this. I do get on my hands and knees and play 'arched back' and peer around the corner and hide, cats seem to like playing catch the silly human.
