Only in America would a television executive think a reality-based show on hunting endangered species would make for great TV.

America, maybe most of the world, seems to have regressed into the Dark Ages, when bloodsports ruled. Not certain why, but maybe because some of these people sit all day at their jobs and all weekend at their televisions. They want excitement and, wrongly, assume it can be found in these so-called sporting events. Or maybe their Neanderthol genes have taken over.

Whichever, it seems we will be subjected to more and more of these killing and maiming of animals and humans. So very happy I don't have a television - hate all these ridiculous reality shows, that usually have some sort of script...except the cooking shows, which I can sometimes watch online - yes, they have meat.

I am really surprised that any TV network would okay a show based on hunting an endangered species. I don't live in the States, so I looked up what the show was. The host of the show...his Hitler comments were bizarre to say the least.

"In response to his critics, Makris went on an NRA-sponsored radio show and accused them of 'animal racism' for jumping to the defence of elephants as opposed to other animals."

"And [critics] said but they're so big and special and they're smarter. And I went, you know, Hitler would have said the same thing,' he said.

NBC Sports has cancelled 'Under Wild Skies' as a result of his remarks.

"Under Wild Skies" will no longer air on NBC Sports Sports Network due to the programís close association with its host, whose recent comments comparing his critics to Hitler are outrageous and unacceptable,' the network told Deadspin in a statement. 'NBCSN will continue to air all of our other quality outdoor programming.'

The episode where Makris kills an elephant is filmed in Botswana, where elephant hunting remains legal until 2014, when a new law against hunting the endangered animals kicks into effect."

Elephants face endangerment, so why hunt an endangered species? It's bad enough they face dangers from poachers after their ivory.

Tony Makris is a worthless, low-life piece of $#!T. After killing the elephant, the SOB says, "that was a lot of fun." There is something drastically wrong with anyone who thinks killing anything is "a lot of fun." What a terribly, sick world we live in. Society in general caters to these morons who are so twisted that they really believe that murdering innocent living beings is a sport. Oh how I love hunting accidents!!!

I have a better idea, why don't they put a reality show about shooting the CEO of the network in the face, and see how that feels!
