All blind veterans should receive guide dogs They have given their loyal services to their country The least their country can do is to give them a guide dog to help them adapt to a stressful world and every day life back in civie street

Hey folks..........as a person who is blind themselves and recently acquired a Guide Dog in July 2013 I want it known that Guide Dogs are FREE to anyone who meets the requirements of being "Legally Blind" or have less than a 20% field of Vision. There are several Guide Dog Schools in the USA and elsewhere and a person may go to the site of "Guide Dog Users, INC" for a list of all of the Credited Guide Dog Schools. It takes approximately $40 - $60 thousand Dollars to breed these dogs, raise these dogs as puppies (thanks to volunteer puppy raisers) and train these dogs. These Schools provide the Dog, Training the person who is matched with the dog, flying them to the Training School and flying the Student along with the Dog back home as well as providing approximately 28days of training, housing and food at NO CHARGE to the person who is blind whether they are in the Military or not, rich or poor, working or not. There are approximately 25 schools in the Country of which 15 of them are an accredited school such as Guide Dog Foundation For the Blind, Guiding Eyes, Fidelco Guide Dogs, Southeastern Guide Dogs, Pilot Dogs, INC., The Seeing Eye, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Leader Dogs For the Blind, Gallant Hearts and several others....just to name a few of them. There is no reason for anyone who meets these qualifications to not be able to acquire one of these Guide Dogs. ALL of these Schools run solely on Donations and provide a great Service to those of us who are Blind that allow us to take back our self-respect, pride, freedom and in dependency. Please consider making a donation to one of these fine Schools or to the Lions Clubs that are a big part of the Donations to these Schools.
And once again.....and as always, I thank those of you who Served in out Military in whatever capacity you served in and am proud of each and every one of you.

Worthy cause that helps so many, thanks Dustina for pointing me to this article. We had a woman from one of these schools come to our church and we made a donation to her in support of the dogs and what she is doing.
