Would you prefer trespassing or breaking and entering? The act of However, civil disobedience as well as passive resistance does have consequence and why we hold these people up as examples. But is there is no consequence, it's not much of an example.

I will sign when Hell Freezes Over. The so called "protest" was by every definition an act of piracy on the open seas for which the Russians could have justifiably shot them the minuet they boarded the platform. And these radicalized zealots knew it at the time and chose to go for the publicity and commit the crime. The fact that you agree with their agenda does not make what they did any less a crime.

Noted and signed with reservation. Piracy is piracy, whether it happens along the coasts of Africa by criminals or in the Southern Ocean and the Arctic by Greenpeace. On the other hand I do feel the desperation of Greenpeace to stop whale hunting by the Japanese and now the destruction of the Arctic by oil companies and Russia, not to mention their effort against nuclear tests in the Pacific.
Russia has a very bad history of oil contamination in Siberia, pipelines leaking everywhere, no maintenance, that is their problem. The same would happen in the Arctic international waters, that is our problem and that is why I congratulate Greenpeace, closed my eyes about piracy and signed.
Enough is enough, no matter how one feels about Greenpeace tactics, they are dedicated people wanting to make OUR planet a better place. Unfortunately they are only prolonging the misery of our self destruction.
Big industries like Oil, Nuclear, Coal, GMO, Chemical just to name a few they only look at the $. Politicians are clueless only looking at the $ rewards and votes.
This is why we have Greenpeace.
