I am shocked by the conditions of work and life of women and men who produce your products in China. Up to 13 hours per day, seven days a week, overcrowded dormitories, toxic products handled without protection.

Mattel needs 6 to 8 million euros to the "petites mains" who make his toys

This is the new revelation of our partner China Labor Watch organization which summed what are the working hours and unpaid social security contributions over a year by the American multinational.

Up to 13 hours per day, seven days a week, overcrowded dormitories, toxic products handled without protection... Our partner has managed to secretly investigate six Chinese factories and publishes a new report damning for the world's number one toy.

For several years, China Labour Watch solidarity etPeuples point finger the scorn of the company for the dignitedes workers and Chinese workers. The approach of Christmas, this is the time or never to require that Mattel improves finally its practices.

Letter to Mr Stockton, President and CEO of Mattel

I am shocked by the conditions of work and life of women and men who produce your products in China. I ask you therefore to:
immediate and long-term measures to correct and prevent violations of labour rights and inform the China Labor Watch.
ensure that prices and times you require for your vendors are compatible with the payment of a living wage and the respect for the legal duration of working time;
publish the complete list of your suppliers;
make sure that effective complaint mechanisms exist in each factory and workers - its are informed employees of their rights.

Done! Thanks, Cher.

(BMutiny - French, I believe, now only has Madame/Monsieur - they stopped using Mademoiselle fairly recently. So Madame sort of means Ms. English used to be the same. Men were Mister, and all women, except children and prostitutes, were Mistress. So it was - pretty much - equal that way. Then the distinction started up, so women had to advertise their marital status, and those of us who wanted the same rights as men, who felt that men didn't have to flag themselves up as 'available' or 'taken', call ourselves Ms. But it's silly really - we've got 3 possible titles now instead of just the one. Sorry if you know all this already!)

This treatment of workers by Mattel is absolutely unacceptable! We must all urge Mattel as strongly as possible
to remedy these transgressions -- otherwise, criminal charges should be
filed (if they have not been already).
