I'm a little miffed, what does my birth date have to do with this?

Thank you for helping turkeys! Thanks Cher, but this does not apply to those of us who do not eat meat.

If I don't eat turkey but celebrate Thanksgiving; does that mean I get to invade someone else's home; evict them and tell them they don't live there anymore?

"45 million turkeys are slaughtered each year for Thanksgiving"-good god, so glad WE DO NOT have this holiday
Of course signed, and it's been bugging me,too that this Peta2 is the ONLY site always requesting date of birth-although I do understand their reason. It must be for the points thing there if one participates in that.

Many of the terrified birds dodge the tank and, therefore, are completely conscious when their throats are slit. If the blade fails to slit the birds' throats properly, they are scalded alive in the tank of hot water that's used for feather removal. Who has the heart or stomach to do this? Horrifying. Done

Very sorry to say I bought 2 turkey thighs before I saw this. I won't eat them on Thanksgiving, or Christmas, and these will be the last turkey I'll buy...can't promise I won't eat any on Thanksgiving because will be with son & family...maybe if I eat lots more sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes....with lots of butter, no gravy?? Not good for diet but I love them.

Toni - people who have families to feed and rent to pay do these jobs, many of them are what has been termed illegal immigrants, paid at a lower wage. These people can't afford to stand on principle or their families will starve, or evicted, or no winter coats for children...

I beg to differ. Even the poorest can and do stand on principle. I have known workers to take a job in the field rather than the slaughterhouse. And while it is challenging to transcend to a greater consciousness, when faced with poverty and extreme financial hardships, surprisingly some people do ~ some people even speak out knowing they could be terminated. It is not a black and white issue. It is not as if all people who work in slaughter houses are victims of a system and forced to do this work, or all people who work in slaughter houses are heartless. Boy, I'm really chatty today ~ but I wanted to say that !
