This is great news, butterflies are one of our great pollinators just as bees are. They are also very beautiful and we need all of them, I adore butterflies and grow flowers specifically for them adding more every year. They also need good places for nesting and hiding ; )

The peacock butterfly is beautiful, It is reassuring to know that the butterfly population picked up in Britain this year. I was just thinking the same thing as Barb, that the is still hope for the beautiful Monarchs.

I live in the UK, we have had an awful lot more butterflies in our garden this year and unlike last year, when it hardly seemed to stop raining, the weather was nice enough for us to sit out and enjoy watching them.
