Along with trashing uneaten turkeys, they'll be wasting the resources necessary for its production -- meaning 105 billion gallons of water (enough to supply New York City for over 100 days) and greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 800,000 car trips

LIve simply so that others may simply live.... the older I get, the more meaning this has, the easier it is to do.
With many thanks, Cher, for your tireless efforts and all you do to make the world better.

Good advice anytime.

Please try Vegetarianism.... we can save our health and save the planet...one less animal raised and killed at a time.

Noted. Wow those are a lot of statistics that ended with - 17.9 million households in the US are food insecure!!
I eat way smaller portions than my other half, and my adult girls cook like they are feeding an army!! This habit was probably picked up from me, but I will say that I was very careful of not throwing leftovers away. I simply made TV dinners that had to heated in the oven, and all bones and scraps were frozen to make soup later.
Thank You Cher for all the work you do for all of us on care2. You are very appreciated by all of us!!!
