Thunder Basin National Grassland contains 85,000 acres where prairie dogs are protected from poisons and shooting. Today, it's home to the best black-tailed prairie dog population on any public lands in America.

You’ve taken the first step to help protect America’s prairie dogs – won’t you take the next step and make a donation today? (Done - thanks Cher)

The use of poison results in a slow and extremely painful death – and not just prairie dogs die. Killing these little creatures would subject multiple species who rely on prairie dogs to a sad end as well.
With numerous non-lethal prairie dog management methods available, the proposal to poison prairie dogs – a critical member of the prairie ecosystem – is massively irresponsible.

A few outspoken ranchers have pressured the U.S. Forest Service into proposing a plan to go back on their promise and poison all prairie dog colonies on the National Grassland within ¼ mile of private or state land. This would sentence an estimated 18,000 prairie dogs to a horrific death by poison.

The Forest Service needs to hear from you. Tell them that poisoning prairie dogs on our National Grasslands is outrageous and irresponsible. Let's not forget cruel and inhumane. So much for promises. Done

What in the hell is WRONG with people????? It's just one horrible article after another about man's killing animals and birds. It's horrible!!!! What monsters some people are! It would make a rock sick. The human race is little more than garbage--nature's worst mistake. Okay, granted, a few people on earth are worth their weight in gold, but those that represent the bulk of humanity are beyond redemption. You get to the point there you don't know what to say because you've said it so many times, yet the travesty keeps on. Is there no end to human evil?

Isn't that just like humans? The prairie dogs are inconvenient so they think it is fine to just poison them. Yet another example of why I don't like 90% of the human population.
