Together, we can keep the Organ Mountains free of sprawl, protecting a New Mexico landmark and numerous at risk animal and cacti species.

Signed. NM is not an overly populated state, but, the cattle ranches have taken over much of the land and habitats of the indigenous here. The rancher / hunter mentality pervades in the southern half of NM, as does making money and creating jobs no matter what the impact to Mother Earth and Life is. People and animals, waters, soils, air, fores can suffer long term, for many generations for the sake of temporary greed that only a handful of men participate in.

Of all places that need protection, both the Arctic / Antarctic and deserts are the two most desperate, because both are so fragile that even footsteps can take centuries to erase. Plus, it's ridiculous to place development in areas that need 24/7 electrical just to survive the heat or cold. Signed.

Action completed. It's so unfortunate that they (some, actually many, humans) do not know better and we have to keep reminding them right from wrong. Thanks Cher.

Signed. This would be a sad commentary on our psyches to go into this beautiful area and destroy it. I love New Mexico and want to see it preserved in beauty.

S+N I am very curious that there are over 23 million people on Care2 and we are lucky is we get 400 signatures on any petition, this is very sad. Earth and The Animals need our help, they can not do it themselves, they depend on us!
