Plastic bags pose a direct threat to Massachusetts' coast and the marine ecosystem we treasure and depend on. Luckily, the solution is simple - towns like yours can ban plastic bags and use reusable ones instead.

Ban plastic bags and plastic bottles. Heavily fine those who litter. Our waters are not garbage dumps. If the beach is not clean when you get there, then clean it. If it is clean, then make sure it stays that way when you leave.

Happy to offer my support.. All EU member countries, including the UK where I live, must either ban plastic bags or charge for them. Estimates are that this will reduce their use by 80%. Hopefully other countries will follow this example soon.

Plastic bags are unsightly and toxic. I pick up numerous bags eery week from the streets and it drives me berserk. Every time i see someone taking one for their one or tow items-they may even have another plastic bag already-I can feel the heckles rise. People lived for thousands of years without plastic bags and I'm pretty sure they can do it again. I bring my own and if I don;t have one I just carry them however I can.

I live in MA and would be thrilled if there were no more plastic bags, I would much more enjoy the griping of people in stores than watching them with their one or tow items.

The U.S.A. acts as if, this is some new information that we haven't been told.

Yes, recycling takes a little discipline, but the results are worth the effort.
It's quite discouraging that this situation has been causing problems for many years. We pretended not to care, in order to continue our daily routines, without concern, to do what is proper for our planet.

Humans are their own worse enemies.

TY Cher for this petition, I always use my tote bags that I have in my car. The recycling of plastic bags is very expensive and not worth the effort (bad for the environment)most of them were sent to CHINA, but now they are not even accepting our dirty bags, so YES I SUPPORT THE BAN OF PLASTIC BAGS AND BOTTLES!!!
