The Manitoba government's new commitment to caribou and boreal habitat conservation is great progress. The implementation of a new caribou strategy that puts protection first is key to ensuring that caribou will continue to survive in Manitoba.

Done - but I too got the strange post sent message "
This is somewhat embarrassing, isnít it?"

Dear Minister Mackintosh,

I would like to personally thank you for your commitment to Matitoba's Boreal Forest protection so that the Woodland Caribou can enjoy undisturbed life within your provincial borders.

Caribou in particular, need the intact habitat of the forests in order to survive. You have recognised this and also may have seen that there are few areas left in the world, where Caribou are not experiencing a decline in numbers.

You are probably aware that the Caribou is known as the "Reindeer" in Europe, but is essentially, the same animal. Associated with Christmas images, it is one of the most recognisable iconic animals of our world. I'm so happy that you are enabling its continued existence and protection in Manitoba.
