On January 27, 2014 the House-Senate conference committee charged with hammering out the differences between the House and Senate versions of the Farm Bill produced their final conference report, and it included two major wins on animal welfare issues.

The final bill that will be voted on includes more than $8 billion in cuts to SNAP. I can't support this bill.

Thankfully, the King Amendment has been stricken, so animals will continue to be protected.
The Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act has been included. This is very important, especially since being cruel to animals is a major link in growing up to be a sociopath. Animal abuse leads to abuse of humans.
(Animal abuse is bad enough, but politicians and others need to hear that part.!)
