Right now, 17 states have banned breed-specific legislation, and six more -- Maryland, Vermont, South Dakota, Missouri, Utah, and Washington -- have laws in the works.

not a chance.
it's a fast growing segment of the population.
and! and it's a really big and. there are too many of them. we are losing control. even with shelters putting down over a million per year there are still too many. and they are starting to show up in city and rural packs. there will be an attack in a very bad place with lotsa of children real soon. the numbers will dictate it. pits are showing up in packs. this is just one attack away from blowing sky high.

There has been such an out pouring against this for over a year, it sounds like legislators, and local officials are finally, slowly listening to reason.

"The factors identified included the victim being a stranger to the dog; the dog having a history of abusive owners; and poor management of the dog by the owner." I would argue that "a history of abusive owners; and poor management of the dog by the owner" is breed specific.

I hope it is on the way out. Any dog can be raised to be vicious, as well as it can be raised with love and respect to be gentle.
