Also, if yo have room in the attic, basement, etc, do not throw out old comforters, and sheets. This goes for towels. You never know when you wll need them again.

Moving across country the last time wasn't really so difficult, but while I long for the day I move back to California I also absolutely dread it. Disposing of most of 30yrs accumulation of treasured *stuff* is going to be heartbreaking.
P.S. Ship by rail! Super cheap and very dependable.
