Hunting these beautiful cats shouldn't even be legal in the 1st place. I really hope the sub-humans spend time in jail--once found.

They were in a hunting area? There should be no hunting for these magnificent animals. No wonder the kids think it is okay to stone them, they are not taught to let them live. Stop the hunting and I hope that these teens get some jail time. What a horrendous thing to do to an animal.

The poachers, according to Bagley, could be charged with wanton destruction of wildlife. The area is an active limited-entry cougar hunting unit, but a permit is required and stoning an animal to death is illegal.

Wanton destruction of wildlife is a class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine. Restitution to the state is also usually assessed. Not enough jail time!!! Thanks Cher.

The cougar was treated as if he had committed the most horrendous crime ever and the people decided to bring justice with their own hands... everything so wrong, so wrong... :'( Now I ask: what would happen if the cougar population decided to take revenge?

Glad to see that they are apprehended, sad that this lovely young cougar met with a horrible death. I am not sure how they managed to sneak up on the young cougar, that is not an easy thing to do.

The big cat may have been injured, that seems to be the only way a person can get close to one in the wild and they did a terrible thing by stoning this young cougar to death. If the cougar had been somehow badly injured in the wild, they could have contacted conservation authorities to assist an injured animal and if the cougar could not be saved, a vet could have put the animal to sleep in a humane fashion. I don't know the circumstances that lead to this terrible crime, but the teens must face the fullest extent of the law and pay a price for their nefarious acts.

The article mentioned that the authorities have several 'persons of interest' lined up, so hopefully these are the ones involved and they can be dealt with severely.
