Once this mandate is removed through a process called "decoupling," dog racing will be reduced substantially and thousands of dogs will be freed from constant confinement and suffering.

N&S. "Current state law requires businesses with gambling licenses to operate Greyhound tracks if they want to offer any manner of gambling. This forced union of two unrelated forms of gambling makes no sense and inflicts unnecessary cruelty on Greyhounds, who spend their racing lives confined, suffer terrible injuries, and may be killed or simply disappear once they are no longer profitable.

Once this mandate is removed through a process called “decoupling,” dog racing will be reduced substantially and thousands of dogs will be freed from constant confinement and suffering."

Noted, and sent to friends in Florida to sign, which they promised to do. Why is Greyhound racing required at all? It's such a barbaric sport!

The greyhounds really have it rough in Florida. The races are always packed and bring in alot of revenue for Florida. I don;t see them banning it any time soon.

I sure hope that they put an end to this type of cruelty, these poor dogs deserve so much better then this. Being caged and only allowed to run under extreme circumstances is so unthinkable. They never experience a loving hand, hug nothing. Disgraceful

Our racing greyhounds are treated much better here in Australia. Someone very close to me used to own a racing greyhound, and I can assure all of you that the dog was much loved and very well cared for. When the dog retired he became the family pet. He had a happy life and died of a natural, peaceful death. We also have the Greyhound Adoption Program here in Victoria for those who are interested...

Requiring any animal to perform for the pleasure of humans is psychologically abnormal.
This is, indeed, a sickness of an egomaniacal personality.

ONLY, if the animal enjoys the activity as much as the human, is it acceptable.
Now, that I've p.ssed off a percentage of the population, I had better, say no more.
