We've shown clips of a crow solving complex puzzles before - and even shown a trained crow picking up and disposing of trash - but this latest video suggests that crows may have the reasoning ability of a 12 year old human.

When I lived in my apt. my neighbor would bring a plate of food sometimes. She knew how I loved to feed my crows salteen crackers and Lord knows, my crows'd eat anything; bits of my leftover hot dogs, chicken nugget crumbs, leftover french fries....one day my neighbor bought me a plate of luncheon meat and a corn bread roll shaped like cupcake with lots of frosting on top. Knowing I'd never eat the corn bread, I went out to my back porch and threw it on the ground and it landed upsidedown, on its 'head' so-to-speak. I knew it wouldn't be long before my crows landed and probably peck it to death, lol A few mins later here they came, sqawking like a bunch of older women upset by a new, younger, prettier, neighbor. 3 crows sqawked around but they moved back when they saw 'The King' crow come over to it. He studied it for a few mins, turning his head to the left, then to the right, figuring out things. Suddenly, he put the cornbread in his beak, flipped it right-side-up, sqawked as he did a little dance backwards, then he carefully placed his lower beak under the bottom and his upper beak on top, did a little turn-around-dance, flapping his wings. His buddies-one on each side-moved back, allowing him enough room for his short take-off, and then.....he ran across the 'tarmack' and lifted his 'landing gear' flying over the tree tops over the river, that would lead him home. His two crow buddies soon followed after...and I just sat there in my wheelchair, shaking my head, stunned beyond measure...I still can't believe it !!!!!!

Crows and also ravens are very smart birds. Watched a video of crows sitting up top of street lights in the middle of a very busy road, they had it all figured out when the lane of traffic below would stop, then they dropped a nut, the traffic started up again, when the light changed to stop they swooped in to get the nuts.
Thanks Cher. Noted. I loved Barb's story of the crows!!!
