This is HUGE news and I hope it's also a sign of changing attitudes about animal welfare in China. If you can afford, please donate to Animals Asia so they can start building the sanctuary / education center ASAP ( When I first read about this project, I was moved to tears - there are several pregnant females among the rescued bears and their babies have now a chance of living in safe conditions, free of pain and endless torture... Please spread the news - you can also follow the news on Animal Asia Foundation's website or in Twitter with hashtag #peacebypiece.

"The move was instigated by Mr Yan Shaohong, General Manager of Flower World, which runs the bear farm as part of a wider state-invested horticultural business.
The initiative has been hailed as historic by Animals Asia CEO and founder Jill Robinson MBE, who sees it as a significant step in our ongoing campaign to end bear bile farming."

I don't care why as long as they do it, close those horrible places.

Well, my friends and associates, this is one WHOPPER of a win.

Don't let anyone convince you that Care2 doesn't make a difference.

Believe in yourself. Believe in us. Believe in the other groups with whom we are linked who are working so hard to rescue our planet from the greed of humans. TOGETHER we can do it. AND we are.

Most of us have signed petitions, several, for those poor bears tortured for their bile.

As the article says,
'' that will be the biggest bear rescue in the world a bear bile farm in China is to be converted into a bear sanctuary by Animals Asia who will then care for its 130 bears''

Rejoice and be glad!!!

as we sign more petitions to rescue more of the suffering.....

The bears will be taken in at Animals Asia’s China Bear Rescue Centre in Chengdu. The centre provides comfortable shelters and a living area simulating a natural environment for bears, where they can have abundant and delicious food, and clean and spacious dens. Thank You Animals Asia!!
