A California mountain lion known for a famous photo beneath the Hollywood sign is now suffering from mange after ingesting rat poison, the National Park Service said.

People NEVER think of the consequences when putting poison into the environment. Luckily, it seems this cat will survive. He points out the dangers of environmental toxins, though and, in a way, I'm glad to read/hear all the publicity arising from it.

MAYBE it'll reach some of the people who need to know this.

Noted with thanks Cher. I am happy to hear this cat P-22 will survive! To me it is mind blowing that whoever is in charge of this, has not thought it through very well. What if a family pet ate the rat poison, or a young person picked it up, and no where to wash hands. We could hear about something like this in the future.The big cat has been roaming around Hollywood for a long time, and no incidents have been reported, so it seems that if people leave them alone, they will leave people alone!
