Yeva and Xenia were born at the zoo as part of an international breeding programme and have been a huge hit with visitors ever since their birth.

Captive breeding programs are the only hope for these animals. Until the poverty which drives poaching is eliminated, there IS no hope for them in the wild.

Well thats big money for the zoos, and I don't think they like their life.

I agree with Pam, I wish she were wrong. The fact that zoos can be relied on to protect that last of a species shouldn't be taken as a reason not to look after them in the wild however.

Happy Birthday, beautiful babies. At least they are safe in the zoo from their only predator - humans.

For those of you who want these cubs in ''sanctuaries,'' SANCTUARIES DO NOT BREED ANIMALS! So, essentially, you'll be condemning their genes to be lost.

And to those of you who ''hate'' zoos....would you prefer that these babies be poached, so someone can feel happy, wrapped in their skins and drinking aphrodesiacs made of their bones?

Be sensible.
