I live in South Australia and for years I wanted to eradicate the cane toad AND before it got into Kakadu. TOO latenow!! I have heard it's in Queensland why should you care, they don't and how will you get rid of them. For years there have been excuses and apathy and now the cane toad is threatening many species. It is said that the floods in Queensland will flush the toads down to us in South Australia and Victoria! Let's hope not. Government, state and federal should have implemented humane eradication plans long ago. It is not a matter of something being in another state, this is our country, it is up to ALL of us to do what we can regardless of where we live. If a person in Tasmania or South Australia has a great idea for a problem in Queensland or Victoria then let's act on it, pass the information on and take action! A concentrated effort against a certain pest can vastly reduce numbers and to keep the effort up will eventually defeat the pest. This apathetic view of doing nothing and then saying there is a crisis or a dire situation is NOT GOOD ENOUGH! No more buck passing, no more words just plans and actions. The costs toady will be far less thatn the costs of tomorrow. Thanks Cher.
