Consumer demand for U.S. ground beef could fall if circumstances that lead to the recall of a record 143 million lbs of meat in February happen again, a top U.S. Agriculture Department official said on Monday.

"The industry is right now fighting an image problem with the American consumer," Richard Raymond, the agriculture undersecretary who oversees USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, said during the Reuters Food Summit.

Gee, ya think?!
And who's fault is that?
If demand for beef drops, that
wouldn't necessarily be a bad
thing. Not so good for ranchers,
but the necessity of them is up
for debate, too.
Thanks, Cher.

Let's see what we know about American Beef: Antibiotics, growth hormones (Monsanto), downer cattle, cattle feed lots, types of feed including cattle leftovers after slaughter, types of grain (Monsanto), genetically manipulated cattle, cloned off-springs, no labeling, point of origin (where did the meat come from - what countries), lack of inspectors of cattle, dyes to make meat look better, eradications, E coli and I'm sure I missed a few other items too. Are the cattle really cattle or have the cattle become something else... Oh. I remember now, it's FrankenCattle.

TY, Cher.

I can only hope and pray the demand for beef falls.
