The Department of Agriculture said today that it wants to ban all "downer" cattle from the food supply, a step that consumer advocates say would promote food safety but which federal officials say is chiefly an attempt to allay consumer fears.

yes it it is a step in a humane direction for what it is worth to the souls that have already suffered
and then in the end they will be slaughtered to lay rotting in someones graveyard stomach
.I CANNOT SAY STRONGLY ENOUGH THE PERVERSITY AND BARBARISM OF BEING INSTRUMENTAL IN ANY WAY OF CAUSING SUFERING TO ANOTHER BEING WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION IS SO DISGUSTING SO HORIFIC AND SO ACCEPTED in scoiety it is on eof the most prolific saddest commentaires on the mentality of humanity at large

The fact that this even has to debated speaks volumes!!! People, if you are still eating animals and depend on the USAD to safeguard your food and enforce humane standards, what can I say, good luck...
