Biologists with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department trapped and euthanized a black bear on June 24 after it broke into a cafeteria and a grain shed and then killed several chickens on Casper Mountain. This is the third black bear to be trapped on Casper

I wish people stopped using "nice" words like "euthanised" when they mean "killed".
Pussyfooting around the issue doesn't help anyone.
This bear, like many other wild animals, was in the way, simple as that.
It was not "euthanised". It was killed.

Thank you Cher.
We encroach into wild animals habitats often, and then we complain about them being a threat! It's our own fault that they get killed. There's measures that can be taken to live in harmony with nature (flora AND fauna). The article mentions hanging birdfeeders out of reach, but that's not enogh. We take ours inside the house at night, when the bears are more active. We have never had a problem with black bears in our mountain cabin, they come to visit occasionally, and they leave. We don't feed them, just enjoy the sight.

Noted with sadness that again a bear has been killed for trying to live, how inhuman this is,stop taking there land and you wont have to do this, they deserve to live as we people do,without persecution.

Who or what ordered that! Is an animal not allowed to survive like the rest of us!! To just relocate the bear, would have been kinder, but just to outright kill him/her sounds like they couldn't be bothered! Lets just get rid of the problem the easy way!!

Stupid, cruel and ignorant. That animal was just surviving because we have reduced its habitat!!!! Sick of humans!

If humans continiously destroy the bears' habitat, where do they expect them to find food? Brainless wonders.

these people should move. there should be a panel to review who is qualified to move into a habitat area to insure they know how to behave. Animals should not be killed because some people are irresponsible or/and uncaring.

Yet again we show our selfish side. The human species, there's no other like us!! (fortunately!!)

Killing was not necessary. Tranquilize and relocate. Obviously he was hungry. We don't kill people if they break in somewhere, so what's the difference?
