I am genuinely pleased to hear there WILL be a happy ending to this story with an alligator being treated well and respectfully. Too many times alligators, caiman and crocodile are villified, persecuted and abused. Then they are killed, and no one feels very much sympathy or remorse for their execution. Having just had the priviledge of kayaking in the magnificent Okefenokee Swamp that straddles southern Georgia and northern Florida, I was able to see native alligators in their habitats, undisturbed and being respected by humans and I can tell you that these creatures deserve good treatment.

I only wish the snake mentioned in the article could have been returned to a more natural habitat, too!
