You Can't Tell Me Where To Eat ! - Take Action Today @ The Hunger Site

The Mayor of Philadelphia has banned feeding and sharing food with homeless residents. You can eat your own lunch in the park and even feed the squirrels; but you can't feed someone who needs it.

Noted and signed, thanks. Since the mayor won't allow compassionate citizens to help those less fortunate, He ought to show some compassion and offer a soup kitchen for those in need.!

Thank you Naoko.

S&N While I was reading I was thinking oh for "Flying Frigging Monkey's Sake" all of the Restaurants throw out so much food, all that Waste and all those hungry people. Always makes me angry when the USA gives so much Money to other Countries while it is desperately needed here at home...They got the Money from taxes (Nope they probably got the loan from China and are paying Big Time) AMERICA should start to take care of their own. We wouldn't be in so much Debt if we quit sticking our nose into other Countries! Cut that Out all of you Moron Polliticans! Get a BRAIN!

I hadn't realised until recently that there were people going hungry in the US (I live in England), it actually came as quite a shock - sounds a bit niave I guess! Clearly those who are prepared to share shouldn'tbe prevented from doing so or does the City Government want to hide away those not wealthy enough to feed themselves?

This is so twisted. In America today, you need a “permit” to do almost anything. We are supposed to be a land of liberty and freedom, but these days government bureaucrats have turned our rights into “privileges” that they can revoke at any time. Does mayor Nutter think he can legislate the homeless away?

It's like saying, don't feed the squirrels, it only encourages them to come around. The homeless and hungry do not go away in our big cities.
What I don't know is, are there enough shelters to provide food for these people? In NYC, Guliani increased the amount of shelters in the city, whereby nobody is allowed to beg for food, or sleep on the streets.

Signed:How come that this big, rich nation has so much poverty ?! This is the creation of capitalism at it's "best"... ...No, I'm not promoting communism, but a share of solidarity. Go Occupy, speak up. Join a union, if you can. It's a shame that people have to trade their soul for money. There's so much food wasted, why not giving it to the poor ?

To Alice B.: You can rest assured, the rightwingers are NOT Christians. It is simply, a name they call themselves. They do almost NOTHING, as Christ did and certainly, don't follow in his footsteps.

Concerning Mayor Nutter, his agenda baffles me. There's always more to it, than meets the eye.

We have built America on the belief in helping each other in time of need, and extending a helping hand even to strangers. I cannot be the only one who has noticed, not only the absolute greed of our politicians, but also their hatred and disdain for the "common folk". They have been out of control for awhile now, but they seem to be getting worse--to allow someone to starve, when you could help them, is totally twisted!

''SIGNED''........denying hunger people food, WOW. I can't believe somebody would be this low. I have an idea, how about giving these people JOBS, so they can feed there families. DUMB ASS. With the economy being so bad, how do you think people are suppose to live? Come election time, I bet people will remember your name. So I suggest you be looking for a new job. I hope when you sit down to eat your fancy meals, you will remember the people that DON'T have anything to eat. Hope you choke on your next meal.

Since Nutter (appropriate name) doesn't seem to understand that he is the mayor of all of his city's residents, including the homeless and hungry, he should do the right thing and resign his office. I could understand a republican taking this attitude toward those who are less fortunate, but this guy claims to be a democrat, must be a blue dog. He got his education at catholic schools so he must be a "Good Christian."

Reminds me of the 19th century signs: No Dogs or Chinese Allowed. BTW - and I'm no apologist for contemporary Christianity - here in Phoenix, Christian churches have been slapped with zoning violation
citations for feeding the poor. Vileness like this always reminds me of one of my favorite New Testament quotes:
Matthew 25:40.

Signed.
