An employer tortured her maid to death in an attempt to force her to become better at housework, a court heard. The Emirati woman abused the Ethiopian maid daily after she moved in during Ramadan. She poured boiling water over the maid and tied her up

As horrible as this is, this is but ONE example out of MILLIONS of domestic servant victims, horribly abused, tortured and often murdered by Arab families throughout the Arab world.

For one of MANY examples, please see:

Three Million Maids Abused in Arab World: report
http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2011/01/20/134309.html

These women are typically from poorer countries, like Ethiopia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, where there are few jobs for burgeoning populations, and these poor women are lured to Arab employers by false promises of good salaries and perks.

Typically, upon arrival in the homes of wealthy Arabs, the domestic servants' passports are forcibly surrendered, thus making millions of unsuspecting domestic workers virtual slaves, because these women have no legal recourse or help to escape in countries where they clearly look foreign and the Arab populations aide and abet this slavery and their return them to their Arab slave masters.

This issue is widely underreported or largely ignored in the Western mainstream media for fear of offending Arab oil states – who are the biggest offenders – and suppliers of oil to Western countries.

Slavery is allowed under Sharia, so that there is no groundswell of collective guilt for these gross human rights’ abuses. Further, non-Muslims are considered either very inferior and in many cases sub-human, because that is what the core tenets of Islam are.

Here is an incredibly tragic and heartbreaking video of an Ethiopian maid being kidnapped by Lebanese. She later committed suicide – not an uncommon conclusion for those millions of women whose rights lives have been effectively stolen from them by a People who care not an iota for others unlike themselves.

You are so sadly right. I googled Arab abuses of foreign servants and found many of them. Unspeakably horrible.

Human rights for non-Muslims and non-Arabs are virtually non-existent in Islamic lands. This enslavement of huge numbers of human beings in Arab countries needs to be exposed in the mainstream Media.

How incredibly tragic.

"She admitted to prosecutors she whipped the maid with wire 10 days before her death because she was lazy.

She is accused of trying to hide evidence of the killing by getting her children to change the maid's clothes to hide the blood.

A forensic report revealed that the woman died from wounds she sustained during an assault."

Ah, that religion of peace strikes again. Nauseating how they regard anyone who isn't them. We have a little of that here too but not to this extent. Usually.

If the maid was tied up and beaten, it could be difficult to do any work let alone properly!

This is the usual treatment of foreign employees who are turned in slaves with no rights and are unable to leave as they have no papers. The police have no interest in them, assuming they are able to leave the house. They are often raped

No government is interested and there will be no protests.

Noted, tweeted, tweeted, and shared. No doubt the Emirati Woman is a murderer and sadist. Because of her position she thought she could get away with it, and who knows? She just might.

Emirati will be let off of course. Another reason for to despise Middle East.

Sadly, I'm afraid I agree with Marie! The maid was just a worthless foreigner, after all.

Why do we keep excusing modern day slavery and all sorts of criminal behavior on the grounds of religion? You know the one I mean.

Slaves are property and interchangeable, right? I mean the muslim world has had slavery right along, but here in the decadent west it's been awhile, you know?

I think this story is a logical continuation of many Islamic authorities approving slavery.

Did anybody hear about Muslim or Islamic body that condemned this murder?

I have had numerous arguments with muslim apologists who FALSELY claim, that mohammed "freed slaves" & discouraged slavery! (Of course, these are the same jokers who tell me islam gave women "equal rights" ... probably using the same dictionary to define "peace"!) When I've persisted and said that the Arab Slave raiders were the original slave dealers who kidnapped black Africans & sold them to Europeans -- I've been accused of being a "Racist", lol!

How utterly ironic that African Americans have joined the "Nation of Islam" and become black muslims -- attaching themselves to the racist ideology which was responsible for enslaving them & bringing them to the New World. In the meantime, many have rejected Christianity -- which was responsible for ENDING their slavery! The Abolitionists were Christians, who worked with churches to help slaves escape to freedom, setting up safe houses & ensuring safe passage along the "Underground Railroad", etc. They worked tirelessly to end slavery, speaking out about the evils of slavery!

Must see video below:

I was shocked to see the Ethiopian woman being kidnapped in Beirut in front of the Ethiopian embassy; while she was being beaten & abused, not a single person tried to help her! This is so sad!

@ "No photo" who wrote: "This enslavement of huge numbers of human beings in Arab countries needs to be exposed in the mainstream Media." -- Unfortunately, the Leftist Liberal Media is too busy falling all over themselves to convince us that "islam is a religion of peace" -- even as facts prove otherwise. They have sold out their journalistic ethics being Politically Correct & blinding themselves to the truth! The "marriage" of the Entertainment Industry to "News"; has removed all vestiges of REAL information & facts ... and replaced news with FLUFF!

Generals having affairs are "important news" .... while "reporters" failing to ask WHY the general in question "will not have to testify before Congress 'since he has resigned' " ... hardly draws a murmur! No wonder our country is in the mess it's in!

They may call them 'maids' but in the Arab world they are still virtual slaves. Many are forced to convert to Islam or face terrible beatings too. Islam condones slavery (including sex slaves) but in recent years some of those countries have tried to 'look' like they're abolishing it, but not really.

What so many don't realize is is that if Mohammed did something then Muslims can never renounce it, no matter how disgusting or sick or cruel - like dirty old pedophiles 'marrying' and raping little girls (Mohammed did it). Or owning other human beings (Mohammed did it) or having sex slaves (Mohammed did this too). As long as they're not Muslims you do just about anything you want to them - they are kafirs and Allah hates them too, so why should Muslims feel any different?

Nepal recently outlawed any of their women from 'working' in Saudi Arabia because of the abuse they endured. It's way past time that the worthless UN did something about this, but nothing is ever said to condemn anything the Muslim ruled countries do because the biggest voting block in the UN is made up of the 57 Muslim majority countries.

So slavery, openly still practiced in Sudan, is not mentioned, and this hell hole of human rights violations has just been voted onto a human rights group in the UN! Yes, all 57 Islamic nations voted for them. Just sickens any decent person.

It seems to me the truly lazy one is the lazy woman who hires someone else to do her work for her. It is unlikely this woman in this Arab Muslim state would work outside of her prison home. Just like the Saudis whose oil wealth allows them to import workers to do everything they're too lazy or incompetent to do.

Now the Arab Muslim men, with Islamic scholars' approval, are buying young women (non-Muslims of course) refugees, who are fleeing the fighting in Syria, for temporary 'pleasure marriages', all perfectly 'moral' and acceptable in Islam since Mohammed practiced the same vile thing. These young vulnerable women will be shunned once they've been used and discarded by these arrogant sex obsessed scum, but they don't care, as long as they are not Muslims it is OK with Allah.

Where is the outrage?!

Since this sort of thing is par for the course with the Saudis - wouldn't be a bit surprised if this mongrel of a woman gets a very light sentence. This is another sad story in a world of sad stories.

A good friend of mine has recently left Abu Dhabi after completing a 3 year contract there.
He was appalled by the corruption, nepotism and out and out hypocrisy there. He couldn't wait to get out.
I'd be most surprised if this woman received more than a token slap on the wrist. That's how they operate there.
This poor woman deserves justice.

Poor woman, how does one become better at anything when they are beaten and suffering. The poor around the world are constantly abused by simply being poor, they are at the mercy of others. Shameful, no matter where this type of thing is happening or who is doing it.

The comment about the "leftist liberal media" inclines me to doubt the veracity of the story. Since all US media answer to their rich owners, who are far from leftist, anyone who sees US media in general as "leftist" is clearly lacking in discernment of truth from falsehood. I will concede that occasionally a crumb is thrown to progressives by the media, but overall, not so much.
