Sadly, this is not a new story by any means. Most of the deaths and refusals of the Polio Vaccine have been attributed to the belief, that since both versions of the Polio vaccine were created by Jews, the vaccines are a secret plot by Jews to cause infertility in Pakistani Muslims. Consequently, there is an epidemic of polio in Pakistan.

The association of the CIA's fake vaccination plan to find Bin Laden came much later, and helped reinforce the original objection to the polio vaccination based on a perceived sinister Jewish plot.

To try and help people with crazy beliefs is useless. We have some of those in the USA too that get a lot of press regardless. Let's also consider that Terrorists, are made in and exported from Pakistan and the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan .

Noted, tweeted, tweeted, and shared. Little irony people who try to save other people's lives lose their own in the attempt. Goes to show you in this crazy world no good deed goes unpunished.

It's been said "Where Islam rules, freedom dies" and that in nowhere truer than in this black hole of superstition, bigotry, intolerance, oppression and hate, all based on the brutal commands of Mohammed and his fire-breathing deity Allah.

Hopefully the few non-Muslims who haven't been forced to convert to Islam or been driven out will continue to receive these wonderful drugs. It would be poetic justice if polio and other serious treatable and preventable diseases wiped the Orthodox Muslims out. Maybe then Pakistan could enter the 8th century and leave the 7th behind.

It's so hard to even imagine people being so stupid, bigoted and superstitious as this in this day and age! Why aren't there Pakistani soldiers out to surround and protect these good people who are dying just for trying to save these people's lives? Where is their protection? When the first one was murdered the government should have sent in the military to protect them, but then, given this is Pakistan, maybe the government is in on it.

Noted! Unbelievable, if it were not so true. The fact that this world has already gone off the moral cliff, make the fiscal cliff all the more insignificant!!!

I only read the report as far as the "fake CIA hepatitis canpaign" used to get info on Bin Laden! OK ,this UN backed capaign deserves to be in operation and polio should be erradicated but I can see why already suspicious of the west Taliban officials are wary. This is no excuse for the slaughter of aid workers but for the CIA to pull a stunt like that. Beggars belief!

Part of this is that in any Muslim controlled country the women may not be treated by male doctors. This means that women may only be treated or helped by a woman. As women are not allowed to be educated then it becomes a problem with the mother or the local wise woman helping, and there is no guarantee that they can help. Also, it may be another wife and the others may be jealous or resentful and not help.

As for trying to eradicate polio, this has been going on for decades. We managed with small pox but that was before the evolution of the extremist Muslims who hate anything Western unless they personally benefit with rockets, weapons and anything that forwards terrorism.

One should also note that the polio vaccine was invented by a Jew and anti-Semitism rules over sense, but that is the norm worldwide.

The murdered health-care workers going door-to-door with the vaccine were women - I think one was 18 years old. Their deaths have outraged many Muslims who see the murders for what they are, and want the vaccine.

Thanks Beth
Ignorance is trouble for the man himself. What is the content of the vaccine? How is the vaccine into the country? What was required for the entry of the vaccine? Daughters of this nation not already read. They 'do not read. Ignorance is ignorance. Always losing ignorance.

Leader Atatürk was not. I also would not be different from these people. I'm graduating from high school years. My father had been married. Again I say run away from home. My life the ands. Studied at university. I owe a lot to read and do the research strength of today's grasp. I have the right to live alone.
Thankfull my God for Atatürk.

I have said that we are the own authors of our demise. I think this ignorant and lunatic perspective in the Muslim world could decimate them to the point of being a non entity. It's just another nail in the coffin to ramp up the vitriolic xenophobia that will lead us to the conflict between Israel and the Arab world; drawing all nations into it whether it be militarily; politically; economically. That's what the Grand Poobah of the Illuminati Albert Pike said. One world government anyone?

noted. Maybe these idiots should do some research before killing innocent people that are just trying to help save lives! Spy on them, really?! With all of the technology they think that this wouls be the way that people would spy on them?! Disgusting & ignorant!!

Remember this is the country that Malala came from and the attitude of the Taliban towards her.

Although it was a terrible and appalling act towards a vulnerable member of the community, I saw positive reactions and results because of it and was hopeful. Obviously, there is far to go for most men! I hope that these deaths will not be in vain.

Too many irrational people in the world. Lots of suffering can't be prevented but in so many cases polio can be prevented. Stupid and tragic decision to toss away really beneficial medical treatments out of silly fears.

Superstitious clap-trap...but not a surprise, is it? This has happened before.

Extreme 'religion' attracts the most easily led, the most quick to anger and violence. The cannot see or do not care why or how they are manlpulated into doing the bidding of their power mad leaders.

They say it is done in the name of god or of their prophet but that is only the excuse they use for their own crimes against others. They enjoy being cruel and killing. They are psychopaths. There are many good non-violent muslims but for some reason extremists are always seen as being most representative. That happens in other religions too, as if being extreme makes you more pious.

Again, fear and ignorance. ON BOTH SIDES! Do not blame God, Gott, Jehovah, Allah or what ever name your language gives to the Creator. The men that did this are ignorant of what the Prophet has said. They have been told lies and only lies about what Allah wants us to do. Jesus said Love thy neighbor. Mohamed said the same thing, too. But, he had to fight to protect Himself and His followers. Jesus was the Sacrifice. Mohammed was not. therefore, he did not let his enemys kill Him

Remember too that we have no business going into other countries, that vaccination refusal is a right. We can grieve that peoples lives were lost, but please no Muslim or Islam bashing. This is a much more complicated issue. Vaccination programs while maybe well intentioned are fraught with problems from the beginning, remember that for every possible life saved there are others that contract polio from the vaccine. The stats of rising polio are very possible due to the vaccine itself. This article by no means contains all the facts and while we can grieve the loss of life, we need to seriously question the vaccination programs we are pushing in other countries.
