Ah, yes....the "religion of peace."

A stone-age mentality....and I assume these men will be tried and convicted of murder?

I keep thinking islamists can't do anything more outrageous, and every day I learn something else disgusting, inhuman and totally against the ethics of the Western world they do.

Keep this islamist blight out of our country.

One good way to start would be to vote against Obama, appointer of Muslim Brotherhood members administration advisers, the man who said NASA's main objective should be empowering Muslims, president who hosted hundreds of secret White House meetings with the Muslim Brotherhood, who has allowed an unprecedented number of muslim immigrants into this country, bower to the Saudi king, very close friend of Turkey's islamist Erdogan, and much more. A disaster.

Sending a Green Star is a simple way to say "Thank you"
You cannot currently send a star to Beth because you have done so within the last week.

Obama is a cause of this. He publicly dropped his support for Mubarak instead of checking who will come out instead.

Certainly Mubarak is/was better than what comes after him. The Muslim Brotherhood is set to reap havoc in the M.E. It is not the 'Democracy' that was promised to the people. Thanks Gillian

How many of these crimes against humanity occur and we never hear about them ... especially in remote parts of the world? If not for the internet, we wouldn't be as aware as we are, of this dangerous Political Movement, and it's intentions for the Free World!

Scary! Can our politicians and "leaders" (a term I use very loosely here) be THAT unaware? Surely, with their resources, travels, connections to people around the world, they should be even MORE aware! What will it take to "Enlighten" them?

Beth S....Obama has nothing to do with the interpretation of Islam in other nations. What would you have the US do?

BOMB THEM?

Like it or not....these "emerging democracies" will need to be dealt with and the US cannot be telling the rest of the world how to live. It's how Bush got us INTO this mess....

This is the root cause of the problem IMHO: the fact that us in the West are signed up to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and consider it inappropriate to tell others who to live. Which is all hunky-dory ..

BUT this is sadly NOT the perspective of the MB/Islam. They neither care for the UDHR nor do they have ANY problem with telling everyone how to live! This article is a PERFECT example of this: where they will even murder when a person does NOT live the why THEY tell them to live ..!!

If we in the West do not wake up and defend our freedoms, we'll have them come in hoards and tell us EXACTLY how to live, just like they do now in Egypt and the rest of the countries they've conquered.

They won't be tried and they won't be punished. This barbarism is par for the course in Muslim Brotherhood Egypt.

"the US cannot be telling the rest of the world how to live" - yes and no.

This can be said if people in Egypt or a similar country want US taxpayers to cover the inability of Egyptians to build a sound economy. Nobody should expect to preach hate to infidels and to Great Satan on one hand and beg those very infidels from the Great Satan with another hand.

Everybody knows that Islamists will ruin the economy, because they take away personal freedoms and abuse minorities. If they did and come hear begging, like Egypt does, US as a giver has a full right to make conditions and not make its money wasted.

But Obama won't go for that. He will say something very clever instead.

I think that we should have the right to tell Muslim controlled countries that their behaviour is unacceptable because we not only pay for their oil but we give them money for their poop oppressed people. If we give them money then they can follow a humane course.

Egypt Independent – “Religious vigilantes claimed responsibility for the death of a Student in Suez on Facebook Monday, after attacking him for walking with his fiancée.

The student passed away in Ismailia University Hospital, the state newspaper Al-Akhbar reported.

"Suez security chief had received reports that Ahmed Hussein Eid, an engineering student, died of stabbing wounds.

Al-Akhbar said that victim, a 20-year-old engineering student, was walking with his fiancée and cousin towards a minibus stop in the Arbaeen neighborhood, when three bearded men wearing white Galabeyas on a motorcycle stopped him.

They asked him about the girl accompanying him. When he told him that she is his fiancée, they warned him against walking with her because it is ‘haram, and it is an abomination.’ The student shouted in their faces and told them that he is free to do what he wants and it is none of their business.

One of the three men then stabbed him in the groin with a knife and they ran away with their motorcycle.

The Facebook page ‘Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Authority’ that adopts the Saudi model for religious police, who search for those violating Sharia, said on Monday that they are responsible for the killing of the student. The page said that the killed student was standing with a woman and they were advising him not to do that. But the student insulted them and they later attacked him with the knife, killing him.” Read more.

He was stabbed, because he wanted to be free from Islamists. That is punishable by death in Islamic Egypt.

Once again....Islam is NOT "just" a religion....it's a political system, designed to control thought, word and deed, deny all human rights and punish the slightest infraction with torture and/or death. The simple act of walking with one's fiance is worthy of death.

Oh, yes...."the religion of peace."

And to those of you with fingers POISED to say this is NOT Islam...it's just the act of people who don't understand Islam.....let me ask.....will these men be punished? Because, if not, nobody in government "understands" Islam, either. '

Where's the outcry from those who DO "understand it?" Where's the movement to reform? Hmmmm?

I have visited Egypt many times but incidents such as this will mean that I will not be visiting again until I can be sure of my safety. This was of course a criminal act carried out by a handful of people and crimes happen in every country. It is the apparent move toward extremism that is more worrying.

Howard, I've enjoyed visiting Egypt, too but it wasn't until the last time that I learned Egypt had "tourist police" whose only job was to hover discretely around areas where tourists went, to ensure our safety.

Did you know that?

I doubt very much that they still exist and I will NOT be returning. A Western woman in Egypt would be considered easy pickings, I'm afraid.
