National Wildlife Humane Society now has an official membership roster!

There are no fees, nor dues. Joining NWHS makes you a part of a fast growing non-profit wildlife conservation organization that is making real changes. Joining now means you will be one of the first members. A founding member of NWHS!

Belonging to NWHS also gets you our occasional E-Newsletter, keeping you current with NWHS efforts and of interest concerning wildlife, wildlife habitat and nature in general. There will be No Ads in the E-Newsletter. NWHS will also send out polls and surveys to those who want to add their voice to wildlife conservation issues. There will also be announcements of contests such as the NWHS wildlife photo contests we have been conducting.

If you are a wildlife, nature or environmental type non-profit organization, feel free to submit your news or important events to us for submission review in our E-newsletter. We can help you "spread the word" about your organization's efforts.

Been wanting this for NWHS for several years. There is power in numbers, and a big membership means we can reach out stronger, and make positive changes!

Plus, we will be getting our some awesome Newsletters starting tomorrow afternoon. This first one will be sort of "old news" as I made it over a week ago, but it has taken this long to set up the member service program.

So, sign up!
We are using Network For Good, and they have a very secure database, so your info is safe. Your info will Never be sold or shared with anyone.

Oh, I mass messaged all my friends (sorry), but it would be awesome if all of you wouldn't mind doing the same :D

It sounds wonderful. I belong to the Humane Society's Wildlife Land Trust which says that it is the only wildlife conservation area that does NOT permit hunting. There are numerous conservation groups and societies that look quite appealing to those who care as you and all of us that I have discovered allow hunting and oftentimes well-intentioned wildlife lovers are supporting a setting that allows something to which they are opposed as in hunting. Could you kindly address this question because I am very interested in learning about your project.

Thanks all.. There is the 1st NWHS Member e-newsletter going out later today, those who joined will receive this beta issue. Feedback is appreciated.

Deborah B. - Please feel free to look through the NWHS website which explains much of what we do. We take in "hard to place" animals (like big cats etc) and give them a lifetime home. If we are full, we assist in finding other sanctuaries that have room. The sanctuary has been in operation for near 2 decades. We also collaborate on a rainforest project in Ecuador. The website explains all about that.

The 45 wilderness acres here, where the sanctuary is located, is deemed as wildlife refuge, and the heavy forested area is No Hunting (no trespassing actually). The entire facility is closed to the public.

We are No Buy, No Sell, No Breed, No Exhibit, under the Lacey Act Amendment definition of "true sanctuary". In other words, there is no ticket gate where people pay to get in. Hence, no admission revenues. The animals are undisturbed by not having droves of public pass by. They fall asleep at night to the sounds of deep forest.

We also develop public education and outreach materials concerning wildlife conservation and preservation. To the best of my knowledge, we are the first Humane Society dedicate and legally registered for wildlife specific.

Patrick, you must have a FundRaiser Miracle worker. Without gate takings it is very hard to fund a place like this. Kudos!

Yup, you got it Claudia :)

Thanks all!

No,,,, no fundraiser miracle worker Eureka LOL.
I get free/cheap meat through food processing companies, and we keep the costs for everything else very low. There is no one getting paid, no payroll. Everyone is a volunteer, for 20 years now. I built the physical structures myself, before it was a nonprofit, with my own money and labor. I could really use a fundraiser miracle worker though :D

There will never be a gate.. these animals came here from bad circumstances and we aren't going to charge people to see them. They have a life of calm surroundings here and they deserve that. We are not a zoo. It's true sanctuary.
