Maxine Waters, Congresswoman of Los Angeles, CA, recently held this townhall meeting on Health Care Reform. No angry protesters, no gun-toting haters, no disrespectful outbursts. To a packed hall, Maxine gave a reasoned, informative talk on why Single-Payer (HR 676) is off the table, and why she supports the Public Option.

I agree with her.

Here's how a townhall meeting should be held, and how the audience should conduct itself. Watch all three videos as the questions from the audience are just as important to understanding this issue.

Oh, and the reason there's no psycho talk from the audience? Well...there are no citizens there with talking points from the health insurance industry, Republicans or right-wing talk show hosts. No big media coverage either. Besides, Maxine would not tolerate it. Something to think about...

No lies and insanity from the corporate puppets-republicans means you have a meaningful meeting.

Marion, today John McCain, at his Town Hall, told one of the shouters "there will be no shouting at my Town Hall" ... and he also talked back to the "boos" from his audience when he stuck up for PResident Obama and demanded that they all respect our President.

There were questions in the audience from folks who opposed the public option. Yet, they listened and were respectful. The protesters we've seen at those crazy townhalls are haters, not concerned citizens.

Blue...As I suspect...Obama has probably already started taking names and given the riot act to congress. McCain goes as far as he can with a rope. Guess he's not willing to hang himself on this. I had a feeling the psycho talk would change when Obama got fed up.

I also suspect that Glenn Beck, Limbaugh and the rest will not be around much longer. Obama will be reining in the media soon. Lawsuits for the lies will follow...

WB Marion :)- Fear not , all is going as planned. Healthcare will be passed, and the economy will be one step closer to the real reflection of the people . Most of us are for the "good". :):):)
The town halls are smoke, try to discern and not get caught up in the drama, it only fuels there "show" and delays OUR progress(that is the only reason they do it, to "buy" time, lol. Subconciously the oppressive forces KNOW they are done). It is OUR Time, please do not be fooled, we should be having fun. :):):)

Thx Marion and keep the faith, and so shall I.

Thank you, Serge. I have the faith, but appreciate your confirmation of what I believe will come to pass. I love your reasoned, steadfast sense of things.

The Universe is unfolding as it should...

It most likely wasn't on TV because it was a quiet well organized Town Hall meeting, that began with a prayer of thanks for allowing everyone to attend. And she gave the correct information about the public option, or the Republicans did not want to disrupt her meeting out of respect that she is a very well known Congresswoman. Other than what I have written here I have on other reason or any other clues why this was not seen on TV, other than the fact that TV news likes to sensationalize some of the Town Hall meetings where Congressmen and not women held the meeting. Anyway it 's just my opinion which is worth squat on a hot day.

Thanks, Marion.

Ab out Maxine's town hall meeting:
Talking with my neighbor about the town hall meetings I realized that what we call "flatland" is not used to town meetings. Evidently Maxine laid down the rules at the beginning which some of the other congressional delegates did not do properly. It is usually better when there is a moderator who takes charge of the meeting and introduces the speaker. The moderator also may ask questioners to introduce themselves. It is the job of the moderator then rather than the speaker to keep order who then can concentrate on answering the questions.

It is good new to learn that McCain is part of the loyal opposition rather than going down with the nut cases.

Frank...Good point. I find it hard to believe any politician would not know how to control and moderate a meeting. Why during the Obama Administration has this just now become a problem?
