Thanks, Kathy. I knew that this had been blogged around in groups but I couldn't find it in c2 news and when I saw it on the top of Snopes.com's list of true buzz I thought it was worth bringing up.

I'm sure it's the bell that's the problem. Dogs are like toddlers-NO small parts allowed.

Bear's favorite toy is a large hard plastic ball with holes for his jaws, while inside is a soft plastic ball that rattles around....he gets a new one and he works on tearing thru the big ball to get to the one inside. Keeps him busy and off my lap.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. My dog isn't a toy lover, but I'm going to forward to my friends.

The ball inside isn't the problem. There's only one hole in the Pimple Ball, so when the dog chews on it the compression causes a vacuum effect, and some dogs have had their tongues sucked right into the hole, causing circulation to be cut off. The dog's tongue swells, the owners can't get the ball off the tongue [NOTE: IF IT HAPPENS TO YOU, CUT ANOTHER HOLE IN THE BALL TO ALLOW AIR IN] and the tongue basically dies. Several people have had to euthanize their dogs due to the horrific injury, and one dog had his tongue amputated. He's learning how to live without it, but it's a terrible story.
