A post on TomCat's blog. Three things this week which seem to me to invite the attention of the Greek Furies.

What's worse, is that these only scratch the surface each week. There is so much ugliness in this world right now. Our species is like a virus on this planet. Care to Click has a "new" video on the Zika virus which says that every second person ever born dies as a result of a mosquito bite. Which seems high to me, but in the greater scheme of things, considering the entire planet, entirely possible. So, to whom do the Furies address such an issue? I'm keeping notes I fully intend to take with me wherever it is I go after this experience and that I intend to discuss with whomever is there. I have no standing, that I know of, but I do have observations to "share" as we review, or I review, what happened, happens here. Whomever is there might be glad I can't take the Furies with me. Because if I could, I would.

Tisiphone: A dismal future for those needing meds, (who would DIE w/o them!), and the companies fighting over $$. I have two close family members who need daily meds, and the prices are off the roof as far as prices go. Both on insurance, but still costly, and must do without, in some areas, just so they can cover their medical costs.

Magaera: W.T.H.?!?!?! Used to spend my summers growing up (before going to the seashore), right off of Cottman Avenue, and have such good, wonderful memories of my times there. This is outrageous! When will this hate end? Good Grief!!

Alecto: Yes, this story is as old as time. Unfortunately, there still are those who enjoy harassing, victimizing others for their ego. I hope she wins her lawsuit against him. She deserves justice, and he deserves to be fired, and prosecuted. NoW!

*Good comment, I hear ya, Gene.

I wish the Furies well. Thank you, Joanne for post.

Hopefully the pastor also filed a first level complaint with the denominational entity which handles since that sounds like it violated church rules, too.
Good example of housing segregation despite laws indicating it is supposed to be illegal.
I'm glad it sounds like bipartisan support on not double charging taxpayers for prescriptions they paid to develop-kinda like why net neutrality because we already paid for it.

Tisiphone: I think you are far to kind, Joanne, with: “Not that I am trying to attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.” Reading this item made my blood pressure spike, because I remember too well how Drumpf promised to make prices of pharmaceutical products fair for everyone and then sat down with the representatives of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the first weeks of his residency to “make a deal”, which in fact gave them carte blanche. All this Republican BS about an open market with competition they come up with if they want to get their hands on another area with reasonable consumer protection and then close it off from any real competition by forming syndicates, super mergers, lobbying or just plain corruption.
Closing the NIH leasing loophole with good legislation needs to be done quickly, but with the current political, i.e. corporate, climate in Congress, I fear that even with the help of Tisiphone, neither Sanders and Defazio nor King and Kaptur will be able to get enough Republicans on board to change rules and legislation for the better.

Megaera: So segregation is alive and kicking, in North Philadelphia in the form of parking segregation. “Sad” is not the word I would use if I was threatened and had to fear for my life if I parked in the wrong street. The idea that some white people are on the lookout for people of color who park in their street and even go looking for their cars parked “where they belong” to send those threatening KKK notes there, is nauseating. How about doing some following of your own, Megaera, and get some justice done?

Alecto: I think Ms. Neldon got herself an excellent attorney who stipulates that this Presbyterian church is no better than all other male-dominated industry, in fact that is worse because it claims moral superiority, and tax-exemption, I might add while protecting the sexual harasser and punishing his victim. Alecto might help Ms. Neldon win her case in court, but she also needs to do something about the mentality of many in the congregation who preferred wasting time ridiculing the pastor’s physique but not his action,s and didn’t give Ms. Neldon the support she needed.

Thanks, Joanne, for another great post with “dreadful content”. (You know what I mean).
