The Firefighters Trying to Save Colorado Homes Don't Have Health Insurance

As Colorado goes up in flames, & the Republican wing of the Supreme Court writes the dismantling of Obamacare, the men and women hired by the federal government to fight wildfire are risking life and limb. Many are doing it without health coverage.

I wonder how many homes these brave hearts are trying to save belong to those who would "Dare" deny fire fighters health care! America's Shame!

Thank-you for posting this Barbara ~ Signed the Petition asking for legislation that will make these firefighters eligible for federal health insurance.

What on earth is wrong with Americans? How can so many go along with all this budget cutting nonsense while many of the largest corporations have record profits? We are bleeding each other--our heritage--our nation to death. Oh, I suppose the grand wizard CEO's are going to suddenly appear and wave their magical market wands--instantly creating millions of new sustainable living wage jobs with affordable health coverage and retirement benefits? Yeah...just like they have been . . .right? For whoever believes that. . .i know where you can get star dust, too. . .prime real estate...with incredible breathtaking panoramic views...alpine lakes...mountain meadows...for pennies on the dollar...many in majestic Upper Dir.
[Special Note: pay no attention to those recent news reports of the beheaded...i don't know why they keep print that. . .]

This is crazy, first responders should have the best of everything their country has to offer.

This is pretty outrageous. they are supposed to come when called, risk their lives, and if they get hurt, well, tough luck. I often say that I am really an animal person but seeing things like this just are maddening. The powers that be seem have a little too much power (way too much really and forget that not everyone has the money and access to resources that they have. The state of Colorado ought to be ashamed of themselves. Meanwhile the same powers that be are probably eating expensive lunches in outrageously priced restaurants even as the fires are raging and the fire fighters are on the front lines.

Just wait a while . Mr. Romney pledges to cut jobs for firefighters, cops and teachers. So Colorado,New Mexico and any other state facing wildfires can just go to hell and burn!(and Americans are seriously considering that this rich turkey is in any way fit to run the country,!!)
My advice to such public employees.IF you are called to protect any of Mr Romney,s mansions from fire. Save all the animals and workers and ley the damn place burn!

What person in their right mind, believes that legislators, who can easily afford their own personal healthcare, deserve governmet sponsered healthcare MORE THAN fire fighters.
When was the last time our senators and/or representatives went to work(?) fearing for their life?

The Republicans are caught between a rock and a hard spot. This healthcare issue is now, FRONT & CENTER, and they can't change it. The bugs are coming out of the woodwork.

One must giggle with excitement, when Romney talks about eliminating Obamacare. His changes are not changes at all. The provisions he wants to implement, are almost exactly what is currently, in Obamacare, as we speak. Either, he thinks we don't pay attention, or we have terrible memories.

Gotta love it.

Two things, first there are 'firefighters' and 'forest/wild firefighters' and most of the time they are not the same people. The 'firefighter' every one thinks of and Repug/Tea Baggers hate because of their Unions and/or because they are evil Government Employees that like teachers and police prove that government does actually create not only jobs but necessary jobs are the first responders that put out house fires, business fires and industrial/corporate fires and only occasionally fight wild fires when they threaten people, homes and cities. The Smoke Jumpers and wild fire fighting ground troops are "Seasonal First Responders" that deal with forest and wild fires in order to save our forests, grass lands, wild life reserves, State parks, National parks and monuments and all of the jobs and natural resources that entails. But they are only employed seasonally when and where needed, essentially part time employees that get no health care benefit regardless of their personal physical risk. You must remember the fury with which Repugs fought covering the 9/11 first responders while at the same time using them and their heroic actions for political gain.

I signed, but this is all piece meal we are doing, cover the First Responders at 9/11 now these brave men and women who risk their lives. This is another reason we need a Universal Health Care system in this Country. I do not know why the people of this Country are not breaking down the doors to the bastille, for they risk their lives with no health care while others are robbing us blind from Wall St. and getting the best health care there is. Who knows, some of the homes they save may be the criminals vacation homes; the 1% are so ungrateful.
