Imagine in America where the government can deny protest in any public space it deems fit. Where wearing a dissenting shirt around an elected official could be construed as a felony. Where First-Amendment protections become privileges subjectively dole

"Doled out by the state. Sadly, that America is pretty much here." Important petition to sign....

Those who don't sign this petition certainly don't deserve to live in a free and just society. A society where respect, in this case respect for our 1st Amendment, the entire Bill Of Rights, which guarantees all Americans, not only a select few, the inalienable right to be free from Tyranny, oppression, unjust seizures and incarceration for acting on these rights guaranteed by the most important amendment to the Bill Of Rights; The First!

More importantly! "We" have the right to have our individual privacy protected as "We" see fit from anyone's prying eyes. No one entity, government nor corporations, have the right to suppress "Free Speech. Nor any portion of the first amendment shall be abridged nor altered by any dictatorial wayward law. They believe they have US on the ropes!

The dictates of the 1st amendment of the Bill Of Rights, better known as, the Constitution of these United States, shall not be infringed upon! All Americans must hold these truths to be self-evident! Because it's clear. Washington's wayward House of Representatives are not doing their job.

No matter the cost, these American Representatives took an oath to protect, not bastardize, the Constitution of these United States! Do your job!

I will get this out and about. I thought these "rights" are what separated us from all of those countries we have been trying to save from dictators, fascists, terrorists etc...for countless decades now? The prop was by "saving them" we "save ourselves" so democracy can be the law of the lands?????Hmmmmmm? Boy, that really blows a hole right through the "war for peace" mentality...not that I subscribe to that...but....I thought that was something held dear by all of us? In order to choose, we must be able to agree or disagree...publicly. Can't let them reign us in.

I understand how you feel Mike, but we must all keep trying. If we sit back and do nothing, then we in our silence have complied.

The problems of the system cannot be addressed within the system because it is the system itself that is the problem. Why is this the most expensive campaign in human history? It wouldn't be because of all the corporate dollars pouring in to the two corporate-approved parties. This election should be about people vs corporations: unfortunately, most people would rather vote for either of the corporate parties than look to a party that actually represents the will of the people. Vote Green Party, Justice Party, Socialist Party, or any other party that isn't in Big Oil's back pocket.

Very true and wise words there, Brian. But it would take a majority of dems voters plus a good amount of conservative voters to go 3rd party this time as otherwise all those "lost votes" will count for the very worst President you have ever seen.

Imagine an America in which the government can deny protest in any public space it deems fit. It is already going on. The Secret Service has been given that right to put you in jail without cause! When Iran leader came to the U.S. to speak at the U.N., People were allowed to protest, but, not anywhere near the U.N. - No signs allowed! No slogans on shirts. The SS of America is already in place! Just say, No! and off you go. Open your mouth and off you go! No loud speaker - No signs - just stand around, that is if they allow you to do it - Just check on the FEMA camps that are in your state and then ask yourself why?
**New York:
~Ft. Drum located in upstate New York, probable location for Eastern area processing of people, located near the St. Lawrence river and access to Lake Ontario. Both waterways may be used for transport. Located very close to Canada.
~Watertown FEMA Detention facility
~Albany FEMA Detention facility
~Buffalo FEMA Detention facility

30 States - see if your state makes the list

The nature of the duration seems to belie a long-term use for these camps, which is also not fitting the transitory nature of natural disasters, with most communities being habitable again after a relatively short period of time. We're talking months, not years.
Under the Principal Place of Performance (F.4), this solicitation implies that all of the areas outlined below must be staffed:
The effort required under this contract shall be performed in the United States. Task Orders will designate the exact locations where services will be provided. The five (5) areas of coverage are broken down as follows:
Area 1: Includes the states of CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, PA, VT, NY, WV, VA, RI
Area 2: Includes the states of KY, TN, MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, FL
Area 3: Includes the states of CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, OH, SD, UT, WI, WY
Area 4: Includes the states of AR, LA, NM, OK, TX
Area 5: Includes the states of AZ, CA, ID, NV, OR, WA

Former CIA Chief: Obama’s War on Terror Same as Bush’s, But With More Killing

Excerpt: "Hayden also noted that Obama, as an Illinois senator in 2008, eventually voted to legalize President Bush’s once-secret warrantless spying program adopted in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. The measure also granted America’s telecoms immunity from lawsuits for their complicity in the spy program.

The law authorizes the government to electronically eavesdrop on Americans’ phone calls and e-mail without a probable-cause warrant so long as one of the parties to the communication is believed outside the United States. The communications may be intercepted “to acquire foreign intelligence information.”

“The FISA Act not only legitimated almost every thing president Bush had told me to do under his Article II authorities as commander in chief, but in fact gave the National Security Agency a great deal more authority to do these kind of things,” Hayden said.

The law, now known as the FISA Amendments Act, expires at year’s end. The Obama administration said congressional reauthorization was the administration’s “top intelligence priority,” despite 2008 campaign promises to make the act more privacy-friendly.

As for the election, Hayden indicated it may not matter, at least when it comes to anti-terrorism policy. He seemingly confirmed that the rock band the Who was correct when it blurted “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.."
