i tried the link, but was told the article requested is not available. i tried several links, too, and they led nowhere. so i think the site is having trouble, maybe due to the winter storm they've been expecting. i will try again later ~

i still can't get the site to work. but here's some of the poop: the 63-year-old man was living in the trailer, and his guardian was this younger man, richard delfeld (nephew?) who failed to take care of the old man or the animals. there were dead ducks, geese, goats, dogs, turkeys and others. live animals were removed (among them goats and cats). the old man is in hospital in stable condition. delfeld is in jail with charges pending (even a POSSIBLE) charge of cruelty to animals ~

How desperately sad for the elderly gentleman and the animals. I hope they are all in good hands now.

i agree with poster Jossie Ross.jan.26.when I read comments on story like this, it's what always comes to mind: Why did'nt someone do something, report it BEFORE it got to this state of pain and horror? Did nobody care? thry HAD to have seen and known; texas paper said they had 1/2 acre. The smell alone would have been inescapable. moggy westfall
