Nick Rosen's new book "Off the Grid" is a cool look at different ways people are living off the grid at America. Here's how to get a free copy of this book.

Great site. I don't have a website, so can't try for a free copy of the book, but would like to get one somewhere. Also, I noted the new Nokia bike-phone charger. Pretty cool. Thanks Joe.

People have been living "off the grid" for decades, probably centuries. It is more talked about in these times than ever before.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I bet the majority of people still live off the grid; I guess it's getting more attention now since it's the exception to the rule in most Westernized countries.

There have been people through all the life of the earth that have been going against the norm of society because they have found a better life for themselves. I think it is true to believe that in any given life we live we can build a new one that is more productive, fulfilling and brings greater joy then following the norm of society...a.k.a. the rat race. I look forward to reading this book and being inspired.

living off the grid is something we can all aspire to. Maybe if we went to that campus to go all the way we could help our family and neighbors too. I can't believe how much TV cost. I remember when it was free and now it costs as much as a monthly car payment. Oy.
