Good stuff.Between the ad industry,peer group pressure and human weakness,we've allowed ourselves to get into this sad state of identifying love with buying products..I see the poorest people,spending the largest percentage of income,on gifts that are soon trashed by kids,without a clue as to the real msg of Christmas.im not religious (though I like Jesus),but the msg was a good one..
If the stories are true (and I have my doubts)..then did Jesus die on the cross,so that people parents would run around,looking for the right brand of trainers ,for the a spoilt clueless brat,that just remorselessly consume ?

Great ideas! On the other hand, some families have such great needs because of their circumstances, that they cannot afford to give to others. In that case, practical things such as clothing and items a person really needs make great gifts. Whatever our situation, we should move away from just giving away "stuff." Thanks Holly!
