Across the United States, the memory of 9/11 - that fateful Tuesday in 2001 when terror attacks struck New York and Washington - is still very much alive.

Great article and (heavily photoshopped?:-) pic Bengt...

Islamophobia...

While coping with Muslim suspicion of the West, the president also has to deal with the other side of the coin - Western suspicion of Islam.

This is not a temporary law and order exercise, but a long-term war fought for the defence of Western civilisation (?)

Many still (foolishly?) believe that what's under way is a clash of civilisations.

"The danger posed by Islamists is the gravest threat to the free world since the fall of communism and the earlier crushing of Nazi Germany," wrote Nile Gardiner in the London-based Daily Telegraph this week.

A very sad state of affairs, given that the destruction of the twin towers was undoubtably (the evidence is there for all to see) a US inspired controlled implosion, intended only to arouse the sympathy of the American public and declare war on Afghanistan, then Iraq and looking down the barrel at Pakistan and Iran...Time to stop the madness?

9/11 was the keystone event, a 'new pearl harbor', that launched the 'war on terror that will not end in our lifetimes'... the physical evidence of 9/11 alone refutes the 'official story'. Innocent people are being murdered under a false pretext. The war on terror is a war on Islam... a war for profit, geosupremacy and ethnic cleansing...

Well, I did not mean to start a political debate by submitting this story.
It was simply meant to be what it says: "In Memory of (The Victims) of Nine-Eleven 2001.

all the evidence about 9/11 points to al-queda who trained and funded terrorists from bases in afghanastan...those are the facts from nat. geo to history channel to many web sites who use facts and science and not emotions and conspiracy theories...we will hunt down the terrorists and their leaders without end if that is what it takes....we are winning this war on terror but must be aware it will be hard and long but to ever let al-queda regroup and mount more attacks would be a hugh mistake...we must keep up the pressure on these terrorists and keep them on the run because we have not been attacked in 8 years thanks to our brave men and women of uniform...and lets not forget all the countries who have and are helping fight this war against extremists worldwide...

I am no fan of George W. Bush because I do blame him for not alerting us before 9/11 since he had information that some kind of terrorist attack was being planned against us. He said that no one could have imagined that the terrorists would attack us on our soil. That made no sense since they had already attacked the World Trade Center before and we know of a few other attacks that they had planned against us but could not pull them off because we had been put on alert when Clinton had word that some kind of terrorist attack was being planned against us. However I strongly do not believe that our government planned and was responsible for the actual attack. First of all I actually saw (while watching the tv) the plane hit and crash into the World Trade Center. There also was a lot of information about which plane it was and the names of the people who were on that plane and some of them were Muslims who were on the list of suspected terrorists prior to this attack. I also saw Muslims dancing in the street when they heard the news. A Saudi prince told the Mayor of N.Y. that maybe now we (Americans) will change what we do (such as supporting Israel) to avoid such a thing from happening again. Finally Bin Laden took credit for the attack and stated that the major reason for the attack was that we had our troops in the Middle East and they were not under the control of Muslims. Our troops were there to make sure that Iraq did not attack Kuwait or Saudi Arabia and we had the permission of Saudi Arabia to be there but Bin Laden did not like them being there because he and his followers do not tolerate anybody being in that area while not under the control of Muslims. Once some of the Muslims saw that the attack did not work out as they had expected (instead of asking them what we could do so they would not attack us again, we got very angry) they did not take credit for the attack. Now they insist we (or Israel) did it ourselves. I do not blame all Muslims for this attack but it is clear that there are fanatic Muslims who are to blame.

I just saw a re-cast of the events between the 1st plane hit, to the the last plane that was allegly shot down in PA on 9/11/01 on MSNBC, and it's very clear upon reviewing the reports from that news segment that there was foul play on 09/11/01. There need to be an independent investigation involving this matter, and I for one does not accept the official Government report of what happen on that day.

RIP for those who lost their lives.

I agree with Sheldon and others who do not believe the official 911 story. The US government and CIA have been key in other disasters around the world. Here's another "911" we should all be aware of. May the souls of Chile RIP as well.

Yes, let us not forget 9/11.

I still want an independent review of what happened with 9/11 and to include new evidence + other evidence not heard with the "Official" investigation. The "Official" report was a whitewash.

The only difference from the 9/11 tragedy and many other terrorist plots conspired by extremist Islamists was that they were able to execute it.

A number of similar plots were discovered by now alerted security services in US, UK and Canada. They are proven and well documented. OBL reportedly refuted Hezbolla "theories" that Israel and CIA were behing the bombing as a lie, taking away the glory from Al-Quida. OBL is a fanatic and a murderer, but not a liar.

Thank you Ben for posting.

It's a travesty to not have an independent investigation of 9/11... we owe it to the families of the victims... get a copy of 'Confronting the Evidence: A Call to Reopen the 9-11 Investigation' ... incorruptible scientists with real evidence... btw, didn't OBL die of kidney failure? What will they think of next, 'swine-11'?
