And I am Superman! They say I'm sarcastic, but I'm just telling the (Chinese) truth; the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! :-/

Boy oh boy nice wishful thinking! I know it's too good to be true - that too for China, of all countries - to restructure the Chinese Republic and making it "a paradise on earth". Terrie you're correct - this really makes wonderful propaganda I say! I'm sure people the world over have heard of 'brain washing techniques'. But being a bit optimistic, I'm sure that if this be so, then it should not be difficult for China to immediately take up the challenge and make "Tibet a paradise on earth for the Tibetans". If and when that happens - then will the world believe in the structural reforms of China - what do you say? Thanks Ben for this unusual article. Noted!

Ivy, it will be a cold day in hell before China does anything for the Tibetan people other than more pain and misery and oppression. That's what they are good at. And they will do it with friggin smiles on their faces. The best thing China could ever 'do' for Tibet would be to GIVE IT BACK TO THE TIBETAN PEOPLE!!!! Like I said a cold day in Hell.

I just read something that surprised me. I read that China does not have anything similar to Social Security or Medicare for their elderly people. It seems that the children are expected to take care of their elderly parents. What makes this even more difficult is the fact that the parents are allowed to have just one child.

Communist China : Inspired by Stalin and Marx. The Socialists utopia. And the nutjobs on this website that want America to follow suit.

Absolutely unreal---makes me long for the good old days with Stalin and Hitler. I'll ask the Tooth Fairy what she thinks when she stops by, and report back tomorrow. I know we in the USA have propaganda, but at least it isn't as "out there" as this! Thanks, Ben.

The whole point of propaganda is for you to not know how :out there: it is! you should see us from another point of view...Half the reason why I travel the world!

Same words could be heard in Russia 60 years ago. And when Stalin past away people all over the country cry because that propaganda had make them believe that they lost the best "father" in the world. Now we know that at his time 20 mln people were killed.
Now in China: 80 million people lost their lives during the last few decades (http://ninecommentaries.com/); more than 40 mln people quit the Chinese communist party and related organizations; continuously persecute not only Tibetans, but Falungong (spiritual cultivation practice); Urgus, human rights activists and their supporters; CCP supports organ harvesting from alive people (http://en.epochtimes.com/n2/t/organ-harvesting-in-china/), etc.

Esther, China is not the only country without such facilities. Here in Malaysia we don't have it either. It's very hard especially on us old people. Any kind of medical care is very expensive and a lot of people just cant afford it. To make things worse, if you suffer from diabetes and the like, you can't get any private insurance either and if you do have it, the Insurance companies cancel it as soon as you turn either 55 or 60.
Very sad facts for us old and chronicly ill people.

Marena I am sorry to hear that. I hope that people all over the world can put pressure on all countries to make sure that everybody has some kind of coverage similar to Medicare (and Medicaid) and Social Security.
