Houses built from hemp have been found to use less energy, create less waste and take less fuel to heat than conventionally constructed homes.

And it would save the forest, create animal/insect habitat, help reduce global warming, create jobs, help farmers, etc...

Well, that sound like the way to go then, after all, it is a product of Mother Earth and used in this particular sufficient way, I can't see a problem!!!!

Quite cool! Let's hope that the right people pay attention to this. It is way past time to change the (stupid) laws against hemp (which by the way, don't contain the necessary THC to get one high.)!

This is a idea that makes sense and hemp is natural and comes from our mother earth. Its time to start opening peoples minds to the alternatives that are safer and more nourishing to our planet.

This is something I have been working on for years, writing to ALL of the Senators, Congressmen/woman, and even to the white house, my reason is for Medicinal Purposes, I have Glaucoma, and I have several Spine defects, and the medication I am on takes my appetite away, leaves me with sleepless nights even with an Rx to help sleet, to no avail. some of the medications I take for pain make me ill, and it is a proven pact that Hemp would help in all of these matters. plus I also believe the drug crime rate would get somewhat better. So I am left to Suffer, BECAUSE HEMP IS ILLEAGLE. PLEASE HEAR OUR PLEAS. Blessed Be Batya

In 1937 DuPont patented nylon rope made from synthetic petrochemicals. Along with Duponts backer Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon the big money people prevailed and near the end of 1937 Congress passed the Marijuana Tax Act. By placing a prohibitively high tax on hemp production it destroyed the industry. This was done to protect these big money interests of the timber, petrochemical, and cotton industries. Hemp was briefly re-legalized during W.W.II. The U.S. government produced the movie Hemp for Victory to encourage farmers to grow hemp. Even 4H clubs were asked to grow hemp to help their country in wartime. The parachute that saved George Bush's life in World War II was made of hemp fiber.
