This is an amazing story. The video is worth watching. Kim Carlson pulled up to her South Sixth Avenue home Tuesday afternoon, to find it in flames. The fire started on the second floor in a bedroom, and inside somewhere was her 7-year-old Lab, Koda.

Such wonderful news, noted with happy tears. God Bless Kim and Koda and the terrific firemen who did not hesitate because Koda is a companion animal.

iT'S WONDERFUL THAT THE CPR WORKED FOR KODA. WE HAVE A FREIND WHO SAVED HER SHAR-PEI'S LIFE WITH CPR. -I would not pause one second, if I thought i might be able to save our dogs' lives by CPR.

Humans at their very best. Such a shame that people like these are in the minority. All praise to the young men of the fire dept. You guys are heroes and should be on national TV.

This is what being a Hero is all about, like he said in the video: we don't care who it is a child, an adult, an animal its all a life to us!!

Hooray for the firefighters!!!

Thank you! I am so glad I watched that. I loved what Fireman Thompon said, and everyone shoud be a fireman like Mr. Thompson everyday! "Thompson said, "We're firefighters, this is what we do. I don't care if it's a human, a baby, a child, an animal, this is what we're going to do. We're going to help anybody, anything, anywhere, anytime."

TY Lindsey. This is one of my pet project wishes - that ALL firefighting companies get several sizes of oxygen masks for cats, dogs and other furries.
The best thing about these wonderful firefighters is they did what was called "the unthinkable" and gave mouth to snout resusitation. I do not for a minute believe this is unthinkable. Any animal lover would do it in a heartbeat. Bless and Koda and Kim, and those animal loving rescuers.
