How sickening. Thanks Lindsey. If they are looking to serve children less expensive protein meals, did whole grains and legumes ever occur to them ? So much one can say here....

If tax payers only knew what a school lunch hamburger really was, there would be a public outcry.Yet, the district is protected by the federal government's interpretation of what is editable;incredible.

Oh come on now people, do you really think that if your USDA approves this as a food source for school kids, would you, adult or child be any better off with the rest of a cow that could be classified as the real thing? A cow is a cow and even this pink slime as you call it is basically no difference from the rest of the animal to be considered edible. Most ground meats are leftovers or pieces that could not function anymore as a steak. The only reason is that they can produce the most out any animal and therefore make more money. Health compared with cost is a distant second and all you meat eaters are paying the price for it, eventually. Cheap junk food? Just wait until you get the doctors bill! Oops, medicare will pay for that.......Oh well, it's still your body and you can do with it as you please.

This is truly disgusting.First they feed the cattle, pigs and chickens with steroids and God knows what and now this. Its disgusting. I guess its time to stick to noodles and veggies. The fish are poisened in the waters, no wonder there are so many sick people and children. They are killing us off little by little. I buy chicken for my dog and cook it for her so she doesn't get all that garbage that they put in wet food for animals and that is full of steroids as well. What the heck are we supposed to do. I look at meat at the store and wonder where it came from and what is in it from what the animal has been fed. We never had to worry about all this junk in our Grandmothers day. Very sad situation. You think your getting your child a good hot lunch and its garbage. Where does it stiop? God help us all.
