Late last week, siding with the coal industry, a federal court overturned the Environmental Protection Agency's veto of one of the most disastrous and destructive mountaintop removal mines in U.S. history, the Spruce No. 1 Mine in West Virginia.

This is one of the most destructive forms of resource extraction and simply should not be allowed.

It is shocking that a federal court would overturn the EPAs veto on this project. It is impossible to understand how any *thing* could be valued over the well being of people, the plants, animals and the environment that they... WE all depend on. Maybe if that judge had to live in one of the affected communities, and personally experience the shocking decrease in the quality of life that accompanies this type of mining, the decision would be different. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Gladly signed and shared. Thank you, Lindsey!

Excellent point, Bianca, I don't understand either what led that court to rule against the people, animals and environment, but I suspect it has to do with some Republican judicial appointments.

say enough and with draw our consent to this mindless destruction and hate for our planet and the beings that live here, silence is acceptance.. you can tell a lot about a person or society by the way it treats the beings it doesn't think it has to treat well
if we devalue anything we stand to lose everything
life has value beyond measure
Peace and Love
