Factory farming - 59 billion animals / year suffer & die in factory farms all for our taste buds. We do not need meat or dairy to be healthy as many vegans can attest. Injustice anywhwere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Michael Vick was taken to a courtroom for a hearing. Outside stood two crowds. One crowd stood for justice and a fair trial. The second crowd screamed for Vick's blood. One group was predominantly White the other Black.

I have wondered how many in the crowd screaming for justice eat meat without a second's thought as to what the animal went through. If Americans were as opposed to animal cruelty the restaurant menu would be about 98% vegetarian. Instead a typical menu is about 98% meat and only 2% vegetarian.

We wonder why we are hated so much. It is because we have it so good and are unhappy. We eat too much meat, drive too much, make too much money while the rest of the world suffers.

We can eat vegetarian and reduce suffering. More food for starving millions as it is not going to animal feed. Less dependence on fossil fuel as it takes forty times the fuel to produce a pound of protein from feedlot beef as from soybean. And no more animal suffering.

We must ask ourselves why do we continue to abuse the planet?

No argument here. What you say is true, as much as some animal activists would rather not hear it. As one of the most senior vegetarians here, beginning at age 6, 56 disease-free years now, I can testify to the extreme health benefits of long term meat abstention. Of course, it's a lot healthier for the animals and planet, too. Keep preaching, Daniel. If you can reach just a few people, your time spent is more than worthwhile.
