Over 40% of the world's oceans are heavily impacted by human activities with few areas--if any--left unaffected by anthropogenic factors. This means we humans--and what we deem civilization--have played a major role in the despoiling of the earth's oceans. I

I agree, that we can easily make the change with a little effort. We need to take action.

These are great ideas, such as save the whales and sharkd, cutting back or not eating fish, cutting carbon and plastic pollution. I also think marine sanctuaries and no-fishing zones are important.

Agree, ty.

I love the idea of making the Oceans Seas and Bays more habitable for our beloved Porpoises, Dolphins and Whales. Just a few to start with as you get an unmentionable amount of Sharks and then the Fish and Reefs. I'm sorry if I forgot a few, but I can't remember every Ocean Life all at the same time and it is 9.20 pm where I live and at the moment I'm on holidays with my eldest son and his family, so I loose all track of time as you do! And today they made this the most memmorable day of my life by taking me and my husband Whale and Dolphin watching. Unfortunately we didn't see any Humpback Whales which are the most common whales in this area, but we did see a lot of Dolphins, mostly Mother with Calf. It was a great sight and then I knew that I've got to keep on campaigning to stop the slaughter of Dolphins in Japan especially in Taiji which was mentioned in CARE 2 News a couple of days ago Also fight against the slaughter of the Humpback Whale by the Japanese who go well over their quota and really should be charged for that, but as far as I know they don't. They're cruel with it as well. If they get a Whale on board of a whaler quickly they are known to skin it alive, they don't care about making sure that the Whale is dead before they skin it or start slicing it up into pieces. If theycan't get the Whale on board quickly enough they shoot several spears at it and the Whale might be fighting for it's life for at least half an hour in agony. I certainly know that I won't eat fish in Japan IF I ever go there, but it's a BIG IF as I don't believe in killing these mammals in this way. I have three main causes on Facebook and they are 1 Save the Dolphins, 2 "The Cove" stop Japan from slaughtering 20000 Dolphins, 3 Stop the slaughter of the Humpback Whale by Japan. These are the causes I've been most active in, but since I started receiving the CARE 2 News daily I've been getting interested in more things than just Dolphins and Whales and Porpoises and I refuse to eat FLAKE as that is SHARK and I don't believe in killing mammals in the way these fishermen do. I do eat some fish but I have to be careful as I've stopped eating meat out of protest of animals being killed to feed us even though they get killed humanely.
I do believe in what Australia does and that is I think the first Sunday in March everyone here goes and cleans the beaches and surrounding areas from plastic bags and needles left there by addicts and beercand and broken bottles which can cause a fire in the surrounding shrublands and tree areas, etc. I can keep on going like this and think it should be done more regularly by everyone who can work but either don't want to or are just too lazy to go and find a job whatever that job is! They ought to be made to clear our waterareas Rivers included as they run into the Oceans eventually with all the rubbish that they collect on their way!
Up till now I've been eating fish but I may start to refuse that now as well in protest to all the killing that goes on in our waterways especially the fish that gets caught for sport. If they only catch one for their mealtime that's fine but NOT dozens just for fun. I have a friend who goes fishing regularly but he puts back the fish he catches, unless they intend to have fish for Dinner then he keeps the one just small enough to do for their dinner, the rest all goes back into the Ocean as he only fishes in the Ocean.
Please everyone BOYCOT JapaneseFISH as you never know what that is! YOU MIGHT BE EATING DOLPHIN OR WHALE meat
