Urgent! We're nearly there. In hours Avaaz staff and indigenous leaders will hold a press conference in quito to unveil our call to save the Amazon. Let's reach 1 million fast -- send this to everyone!

signed and shared on FB and Tweeter and signed the petition that Ben has offered as well.

As concerned citizens, we call on you to take urgent steps to immediately stop officials pushing for oil exploitation in Sani Isla. We urge you to protect the Amazon from the devastation of oil exploitation. It is a serious threat to this pristine habitat and the survival of Ecuador's indigenous people, who are struggling to resist the oil companies and hold onto their lands. We call on you to uphold Ecuador’s inspiring Constitution.

The best way to disempower oil companies is for everyone to not need them. After the pipeline has been cancelled we must do more.
