I'm thrilled to tell you that, with your help, we raised our goal of $40,000 to help move 9 tigers and one cougar from a failing sanctuary to the spacious and safe Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. IFAW rescuer Kelly Donithan has the details in this vid

Some of you may remember my post from Feb 12, some asked for details as to where they were going etc.
I am happy to present this great news today about the successful rescue and move.
Watch the video!

This is so good to see where our donations went and I hope everyone is as satisfied with the new home for these majestic cats as they will be!

Thanks for this news but i'm not impressed. These Tigers were in cages before and just moved into bigger cages...these Tigers are on concrete surounded by wire with no shelter to protect them from the elements??? I call this jail. I thought they were going to a Sanctuary with grass where they are free to roam and play with their fellow friends???

Natasha, they were in a horrible situation before moved and I suppose most or all sanctuaries would be similar or less comfortable than this one. Maybe you like to visit the website and learn more about TCWR.

I have been following this as I signed my first petition for this thru (dare I say it) Causes. Thank you for keeping us up to date Angelika. Yes, it would be better if the tigers had a real place to roam with nature all around them but at least they are out of the deplorable conditions they were in, and it was no small feat to get them transferred to Turpentine Creek. Great news!

I can certainly think of a whole lot of "would be better" and "would be best",- one being if they caged in all those idiots across the country holding tigers for pets and/or abuse in less than lousy conditions!

It is great news, now they will get proper care, one even looked like it was limping, but that one wasn't moved, yet. They don't have grass, but they have more room than before. Thank you for the video Angelika.

You are all wonderful people for saving these big cats and all the other animals that you have save. Keep up the good work. I am unemployed right now but have bookmarked this site for when I do get a job so I can donate.
