Compassionate Release for Lynne Stuart Thanks (Also tweeted and FB--- donation made)

Thank you for appealing to President Obama, Attorney General Holder, Federal Bureau of Prisons Director Samuels, Congressional leaders, U.N. Secretary General Ban and members of the media for Compassionate Release for Lynne Stewart!

*shaking my head* And THIS is a Justice system? I worry that many of us are evolving as humans much faster than those institutions we have created.

It is my understanding that in the USA there are "For Profit" prisons, in which case I worry that these just encourage keeping people locked up...

When will you realise that you do NOT have a JUSTICE system. A legal system maybe, but one cut to suit the cloth of the those who can afford an Armani suit.

While her 28 month sentence was deserved, it does seem an overreaction to extend it to ten years just for her stating her lack of remorse for her crime. She should be released on humanitarian grounds.

That was upsetting... I filled the petition out Gladly, however I do not give out my phone number...and they would not accept my signature without it..!!! Thats not good. That limits signatures that are needed... Might do a care2 petition about this someone?? I'd be so glad to sign and help. She needs to be out now. It's the right thing to do.

thanks Devon for your effort! That IS strange, give it another try perhaps? I don't believe that ANYONE here who signed left their phone and it was still accepted.

signed. They consider her a flight risk? You just gotta shake your head at some of the antics men will come up with to defend themselves from the very thought of "uppity" women.
She somehow just doesn't come across to me as superwoman bending prison bars.
A martyr perhaps, Houdini and!

What's going on with our justice system? Rapist, murderers and swindlers being released right and left but advocates and whistle blowers given maximum jail time.

Brenda, yes, there are private prisons here (I thnk they are all state prisons, not federal, though; I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.) Someone I care about is in one. Please pray, if you pray, for us both. I signed previously and am also sending Lynne (at least one) encouragement/get well card - that means so much to prisoners. I hope others will too. If you do, don't send one with glitter or plastic or stickers or any kind of 3-D effect, or sound, or one that is too large. Don't sign or write with crayon or anything but ball point or rollerball pen, or pencil. Basically, keep it simple. Look up the prison rules if you have any question, and if after that you still have a question, don't send the questionable thing. Thanks all.

I didn't sign this petition. No where does it claim her innocence for the charges brought against her and what those charges were that she was found guily of.

A compassionate plea for a guilty person convicted to life sentence, should be just that.
